Member Policies
-
In order to provide the safest and most enjoyable experience to our students, ATA Gymnastics strictly adheres to low student-teacher ratios in our classes. To maintain equitable access to limited classes, we apply the following policies:
General
Each student may join up to three (3) waitlists.
Students may only join waitlists for classes of the appropriate level and age.
When a spot becomes available, the first student on the waitlist is contacted via text message.
After notification, you have 48 hours to respond before we move on to the next student on the waitlist. Start dates are flexible, up to two weeks.
You may add and manage waitlisted classes via the parent portal or the front desk.
Trial classes
Trial classes are offered only in classes with an available opening.
After a trial class, you must notify the front desk within 48 hours to enroll. Otherwise, you will be automatically dropped from the class and we will reach out to the next student on the waitlist.
Wait List Duration
ATA Gymnastics cannot offer reliable estimates of how long it will take a waitlisted class to become available. We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding.
-
Make-ups are offered as a courtesy to our community and are subject to availability. Missed classes are not eligible for a refund or class credit, regardless of your ability to schedule a make-up.
Scheduling Makeups
Makeups must be scheduled after the student has missed their regular class and within three months of the missed class. Make-ups may be scheduled online through the parent portal or through the customer service desk.
48 hour notice is required to reschedule make-ups
A make-up may be rescheduled at most once
Make-ups are only offered to currently enrolled students.
September – May: For each enrollment, one (1) missed class per month can receive a free makeup. Additional make-ups may be scheduled for $15 each.
June – August: For each enrollment, a total of six (6) missed summer classes can receive a free makeup. Additional make-ups may be scheduled for $15 each.
Make-up Hours
Makeups may be scheduled in a makeup class of the appropriate level and age. Contact the front desk or check your parent portal for the most up-to-date availability.

Trial Classes
In general, only students new to ATA or joining a new ATA program are eligible for a trial class. Returning students, or those adding a new class within the same program, need to pay the prorated cost for the month in order to enroll.
Tuition
ATA classes and tuition run on a monthly schedule. The first time you register, you will only pay for the prorated cost of the month. Tuition is based on an approximate average of 4 classes per month over a one year period. In any given month there may be 3, 4 or 5 classes. Tuition pays for your spot in the class, regardless of attendance. Monthly tuition remains consistent regardless of the actual number of class days per month. Classes have no cash value once missed.
Multi-Class Discount
ATA is pleased to offer discounts to families with multiple class or event enrollments! They are as follows:
20% off all Gymster, Recreational, and Pre-Team classes after the first enrollment in the same family.
20% off additional siblings after the first enrolled in the same Parent’s Night Out.
10% off summer camps after the first enrollment in the same family.
Please note that when two classes or events have different costs, the multi-class discount always applies to the least expensive of the two.
Auto Pay and Credit Card on File
Everyone is required to have a current credit/debit card on file. This card will be used to auto pay your account on the 25th of the month. A statement will be sent via email on the 20th of each month.
Each family has the opportunity to pay with another form of payment (see below) by the 24th of the month for the upcoming month. However if payment has not been made, then the card on file will be charged on the 25th for the upcoming month. If for any reason the card is declined, you must bring your account current by the 1st of the upcoming month or the student will be immediately dropped from their class.
Payment Methods
ATA accepts checks or debit/credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, and Discover). You may pay in person at our customer service desk, use our online customer portal, mail a check or pay by phone with a credit card/debit card.
Drop Policy
Enrollment in ATA classes is continuous from month to month until ATA receives a written drop notice to un-enroll. This notification must be received by the 20th of the month to un-enroll for the upcoming month. You may fill out a drop notice form at the customer service desk or send us an email at info@atagymnastics.com, including the name of the student and the last day of participation.
Refunds
Missed classes will not be credited or refunded. You are responsible for tuition for the entire month, whether or not your child attends. If a customer’s card is charged on the 25th and a drop notice is received before the 1st of the upcoming month, a refund will be given minus a $20 processing fee.
Returned checks/Declined CC
All returned checks will be charged a $20 service fee and the CC on file will be charged. Accounts which have more than 2 declined credit card payments will be charged a $20 service fee.
Financial Aid
We offer a limited number of need-based scholarships to students in our Gymster and Recreational Gymnastics programs. Scholarships cover 50% of the tuition for one (1) class per week for each eligible participant.
Families can receive scholarships for multiple children.
Scholarship discount replaces all other discounts (e.g. multi-class discount).
Scholarships are for 6 months, after which families may re-apply.
Contact the front desk at info@atagymnastics.com for application information.
Injury Hold
A student who experiences an injury or serious illness that temporarily prevents participation may be eligible for an injury hold. With a doctor’s note, ATA will pause tuition payments and reserve the student’s spot in class. Once the student is medically cleared to return, tuition will resume and the student may rejoin their class. Injury holds are granted at the discretion of ATA and may not exceed a total of 12 weeks within any 12-month period.
-
At ATA Gymnastics, we focus on small-group learning to provide personalized coaching while fostering peer motivation. Our recreational program features five levels to tailor instruction to each gymnast’s needs. Due to high demand and limited resources, we currently do not offer private lessons to the public.
-
Although we strive to always provide your children with a consistent teacher, absences will occur. We will notify you if your instructor changes permanently or if a long-term substitute is necessary.
-
Food, drink, and gum are not allowed on the gym floor. Water in a closed-lid container is ok. When eating in the lobby, please help keep the area clean.
-
Parking Lot
Children should wait for pickup inside the building. Students under the age of 13 should always be accompanied by an adult when crossing the parking lot and older students should stay alert, watch carefully for cars that may be backing up, and make sure drivers see them before crossing. Please respect the needs of our members with disabilities by reserving handicap parking spots for those with valid permits.
Gym Floor
Only registered students are allowed on the gymnastics floor and must always be supervised by a coach. Parents should watch classes from the waiting areas, and are only allowed in the gym area when accompanying children enrolled in a parent-participation class. ATA reserves the right to remove students (or parents) from the gym area if their behavior is extremely disruptive or poses a safety risk (see discipline procedure below).
Walkways
To allow for safe exit paths in case of emergency, please do not sit or stand in designated walkways.
Play Area
Play areas are intended for young children waiting for class to begin or for siblings of enrolled students. These areas are not supervised by ATA staff, and parents or guardians are responsible for supervising their children at all times to ensure safety and appropriate behavior. Children who engage in rough play or disruptive behavior may be asked to leave the play area.
Illness
For the safety and well-being of everyone in the gym, please do not bring your children to class if they have had a contagious illness in the 24 hours prior to their class (such as a fever, coughing, or vomiting). We offer extensive make-up options outlined above.
Tardiness
A proper warm-up is vital to preparing the body for gymnastics. Late-arriving students are disruptive to the flow of class since the coach must help them warm-up separately. Therefore, students who arrive more than 15 minutes late may be denied entry to class and offered a makeup option.
Hygiene
Students should wear clean clothes to class and make sure feet are clean before stepping on the floor. Always wash or sanitize your hands before and after class.
Reporting
ATA Gymnastics is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all our students and staff and we do not tolerate any form of harassment, bullying, and physical or emotional abuse. As a member of USA Gymnastics we take active steps to prevent abuse by conducting background checks on all employees and following the prevention policies outlined in the Safe Sport Code. Any suspected misconduct should immediately be reported to ATA Management. In addition, anonymous reports can be filed with the U.S. Center for SafeSport and USA Gymnastics.

ATA is committed to providing a safe, fun, and positive environment for all athletes. We understand that children are still developing self-regulation, and most behavior concerns can be addressed with guidance and support.
Students are expected to:
Follow coach instructions and class rules.
Treat coaches, staff, and peers with respect.
When a student’s behavior impacts safety, learning, or the experience of others, we will follow a progressive approach:
Verbal Reminder: Coaches will redirect the student and review expectations.
Short Break from the Floor: If behavior continues, the student may take a brief break to reset before rejoining class.
Parent Communication: Ongoing concerns will be shared with parents so we can work together to support the athlete.
Suspension: For repeated or serious safety concerns (such as physical violence or threatening language), ATA may temporarily suspend a student from all classes and events.
For very serious and unsafe behavior, ATA may take immediate action without following each step above, up to and including permanent suspension. Our goal is always to help athletes succeed while keeping the gym safe and fun for everyone.

Leveling Up
Our recreational curriculum is designed to build confidence through a building-block progression of tumbling skills. School-aged students without prior experience begin in Level 1 and work their way up to Power Tumbling, our most advanced recreational class!
Once an instructor sees that their student has mastered all of the testing skills for their level, they will request that the student be tested to move to the next level. Testing is done individually, during regular class time, by an ATA staff member other than the student’s coach.
For safety and development, we maintain high standards of form and technique for level testing. Often students will receive specific feedback from the evaluator and then re-test one or more times before moving up.
After moving up, it is not always possible to immediately place the student in a higher level class which fits their schedule. In this case, the student’s instructor will continue to refine and progress their skills within their current class.
Students may only join the waitlist of classes for which they are currently level-qualified.
Holiday Shows
Each year at ATA, we celebrate the holidays gymnastics style with fun routines for parents and family to watch and support! Students rehearse for three three weeks during their regular classes. During the week of holiday shows, every class will perform together as a group, showcasing the skills and teamwork they've been practicing. With some exceptions, Holidays Shows are performed during your student’s regular class time.
Note that we generally cannot schedule class transfers, makeups, or evaluations during the week of Holiday Shows.
Achievement Week
Achievement Week is our semi-annual celebration and showcase of your student's accomplishments, and an opportunity to check their progress toward the next level in our program.
To receive a star on a testing skill, a student must demonstrate it consistently with proper form. Gymnastics skills are challenging and can take months or years to learn! Our curriculum and technical standards are designed to promote your student's safety and long-term success. Videos of testing skills are available on our website for your reference.
If your student has received stars on all or most of their skills, their coach will determine if they are ready for an official test to level up (see above).

Parent Participation Classes (GymBabies / GymBugs / GymJumpers)
Stay within arms distance of your child at all times. You are their “safety net.”
Students are encouraged to join group activities, however, if they are new to the program and need to explore, parents must stay with them.
Jumping distance – The USA Gymnastics Safety Handbook states that a child should not jump down from a distance any further than the height of their knees. Use crash pads to soften landings.
Hold your child’s waist when spotting on the beam, not their hand or arm.
Students need to be barefoot. Parents may wear socks.
Don’t jump on the trampoline or tumble track with your child! That can create an unsafe rebound for your child. Parents may walk on the carpeted areas.
No cell phone use on the gym floor. If you must take a call, please exit the floor with your child and take the call in the lobby.
Lift your child’s hips when spotting forward and backwards rolls to take the weight off of their neck.
Don’t let your child hang from a bar if they are not able to hold their own weight. Young children have weak ligaments and can injure their shoulders.
The gym floor should be a happy place. If your child is upset, take a break, get a drink of water, and come back once they have calmed down.
GymBees Progression
Our GymBee students learn their "A,B,C's" gymnastics style! Each student gains motivation and self-confidence as they work to master a building-block progression of skills. After completing each skill set, students receive a special certificate signed by their instructor and may enroll in the higher level class.
Adventure Hour
Adventure Hour is for children ages 18 months to 6 years.
Space is limited, so you are encouraged to reserve your spot ahead of time.
There is NO adventure hour during summer camps or scheduled gym closures.
All participants must sign in at the front desk. Children under 3 must be directly supervised by a registered adult. “You are your child’s safety net!”
Participants must follow all ATA gym rules for equipment usage at all times.
Treat others with RESPECT at all times. (This includes coaches, students, other parents etc.)
Help us keep the gym floor a HAPPY space. If your child is upset please exit the floor,
calm down and then come back when your child is ready to play again.
ATA loves sharing, please encourage your child to share all equipment at all times.
We know sharing and taking turns can be hard for preschoolers however if physical
altercations occur, we will ask that your child leave the gym floor immediately and
discontinue play for the day.
Help us keep our floor in tip top shape! No food or drinks on the gym floor at any time.
Please use the lobby area for snack time. ATA has provided a baby changing station in the women’s restroom for your convenience.
